Spice n Flavor was founded in the year 2000 in New York, USA, by Chef Tom Vellaringattu as an Indian Spice Blend enterprise. Under the brand name ‘India’s Spice n Flavor,’ the company successfully introduced more than 10 distinct spice blends in the market during its initial years. However, the spice blend venture eventually came to a halt due to the excessively high shipping costs within the United States.
In late 2016, Chef Tom embarked on a new culinary adventure by opening an Indian restaurant named ‘Spice n Flavor’ in San Jose, California. He successfully managed and operated this restaurant for a span of four years. During this period, the restaurant collaborated with an online food delivery platform, www.shef.com.

In 2021, Chef Tom and his family relocated to Portland. Their future plans include a revival of their culinary endeavors, with Chef Tom aiming to resume cooking for Shef.com in the Portland area starting in early 2024.
